We are thrilled to share that the Rashid S. Conteh Memorial Hospital has reached a major milestone—the roof is complete!
On September 14, 2025, Project Manager Alimamy Mansaray and the construction team paused their work for prayers. As is the custom in Sierra Leone, both Islamic and Christian prayers were offered for Rashid, for the workers, and for the success of the hospital. After the prayers, the carpenters affixed the zinc pan roof. It was a moving reminder that this project is about more than cement blocks and wood beams—it is about hope and healing.
This achievement reflects tremendous progress since the groundbreaking in January. While there is still much to do—electrical, plumbing, tiling, fixtures—we pause today to celebrate how far we have come. In Sierra Leone, it is not uncommon for projects of this scale to take years to reach this stage. We give thanks for the leadership, persistence, and teamwork that have kept the process moving forward.

Rashid would be so pleased to know that his name is now tied to a hospital in his birth country—a place that will one day bring healing to many. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Hassan Sesay for his collaboration, to Alimamy Mansaray for his steady leadership, and to every worker who has labored on this project.
We also thank the many donors who have given generously to the Rashid S. Conteh Memorial Foundation. Your support is making a lasting impact, turning grief into hope and vision into reality.
As the project moves into the next phase, we invite you to continue walking with us. Together, we are building more than a hospital—we are building a legacy of care in Sierra Leone.
