Preparing for Patients: Construction Updates

Work continues steadily on the hospital!
About a month ago, on Wednesday, April 22nd, I visited the construction site while the exterior plastering was being completed. We walked through the entire structure, seeing doors stacked and ready for installation and protective cages being built for the air conditioning units, along with other construction items throughout the interior rooms.

The clinic next to the construction site was busy. The medical doctor was seeing expectant mothers and conducting ultrasounds while construction continued behind the fully functioning clinic.
This week brought even more exciting news: tiling is now underway! Installation began on the fourth floor and will continue throughout the remaining levels. Enough tile has already been purchased for all four floors. Some of the photos show tile being laid in patient rooms, while the bathroom tile extends up the walls as well. The exterior doors have already been installed, and now that the flooring work is progressing, the interior doors are also being set in place. The hospital is truly beginning to take shape.
At the same time, we are continuing to work with TriMedX Foundation and Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach to prepare a shipping container filled with medical equipment and supplies for the new hospital. The container is scheduled to depart on June 2 and arrive in Sierra Leone in mid-July.
There is still much work to do before the equipment arrives, but everything remains on schedule. It is exciting to see this vision coming together, and we are deeply grateful for the generous donations and support that continue to make this project possible.
